MIA BANKS

Mia Banks is the name behind the voice: Radio personality, voice-over talent, beauty expert, and a go-getter. Her witty, tongue-in-cheek personality matched with her alluring and down-to-earth voice is sure to perk the ears of every listener.

Mia began her career as an intern grinding her way from promotions to programming at WALR and WVEE in Atlanta, as well as WPGC in Washington, DC. While at WPGC, she was hired as a weekend board operator and assistant to the “Big Tigger Morning Show.”

Pursuing her passion for being an on-air talent, Mia reconnected with her roots to relocate to Little Rock, Arkansas, as the weekend-midday personality for KZTS Streetz 101.1. After five years with Streetz, Mia briefly cohosted “Kramer in the Morning” on KHKN Hot 94.9 before landing her first, full-time daypart with KHTE 96.5 The Box.

A true “hustlHER,” Mia is also a professional voice-over talent. Her voice is her gift; she has voiced projects for Washington DC Public Schools, T-Mobile, Bank OZK, Duke University, Arkansas Department of Health, Tinker Federal Credit Union, and Mississippi Works, to name a few. Mia’s legacy goal is to inspire, entertain, and motivate young women and girls to live an authentic life, pursue their passions with confidence and fulfill their purpose while looking good and having fun. “Regardless of the changes in technology, the market for well-crafted messages will always have an audience,” and Mia is always ready to share her voice responsibly to evoke emotion, mark memories, and encourage action.

When not on the air, she’s “on the beat” as a freelance-makeup artist: Matching, swatching, mixing, blending, and brow-dipping to the latest makeup tips, trends, and tricks to transform brides for their big day and teach the everyday woman how to slay her skincare routine. Ultimately, Mia aspires to be the go-to voice for major award shows and commercial beauty brands.

Mia was a college basketball player and a four-year letter winner for Missouri Western State University, where she earned all-conference honors and played overseas briefly. Mia graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and a minor in Spanish. She completed her Master of Arts in Mass Communications and Media Studies with an international studies certificate from Howard University. Mia is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Recognized as “HustlHER of the Year” in her local market, her internal motivation and external work ethic are inimitable. The creator of the budding social-media-entertainment segment – “The BankStatement,” Mia is coming for everything that has her name on it. Get social with her now – @itsmiabanks.
